Been slacking again… sorry.
Thursday night I heard from the cute neighbor. 
We had a nice little phone conversation, and there may be more in the future. (I’m not sure I want to divulge too much more on that front; generally, when I do that, I overflow on optimism.)
Friday was a very blah day weatherwise. It rained some but was mostly just cold and overcast – a last hurrah for winter. Work was the typical procession of whiny users, bitching about how I haven’t materialized on their doorsteps yet.
However… My office has 2 half-season tickets to the Cardinals games. (That is, they have 2 seats at the home opener, and 4 seats each at every other home game.) They held a drawing for the two seats to yesterday’s home opener, and though I didn’t win, I was asked to go. by the single most boring co-worker on the face of the earth. *cringe* After a little hand-wringing I decided to bite the bullet and just go.
Saturday I did absolutely nothing. It was GREAT.
Sunday morning I was liturgist at my parents’ church. It was “hymn sing Sunday” so I had to provide transitions from one song to the next; I was bored so I kicked it into Baptist preacher mode. After the service I was asked several times if I was planning to enter the ministry; I gave the official “It doesn’t interest me” (which is true) but not the actual “They won’t let me because I like to kiss other men”. And then some woman tried to guess my age and was WAY off – she asked if I was 27 or 28, and I just narrowed my eyes, clenched my teeth, and said “No, I’m 23″. grrr.
Went home just long enough to change, then picked up my mother and younger brother to go see Spirited Away at my favorite theater. It was good – definitely better than Princess Mononoke – but I don’t know if I’d describe it as the “greatest ever” (as others have).
After dinner at my parents I met my friend Jimmy, his long-distance BF, and a few other people for drinks at a nearby lesbian martini bar. I had a fair amount of gin – mmm, gin – and we yammered on for a couple hours. I’ll have to go back sometime.
Yesterday (Monday) I cranked out some work before ditching at 2ish. I’ll have to post about the game itself later.
