Blah. Some days I really do wish I had a “send shock” button on my keyboard…
Much of my workday today has been taken up by a user. She asked me yesterday for a bunch of data, and it had to get done quickly; I took care of her request yesterday. This morning, I got in to discover that she had e-mailed me, her boss, my boss, and the boss of both our bosses, complaining that the data she received was not what she wanted. I wasn’t in the greatest of moods, and was very tempted to send a snide “No, but that’s what you asked for, bitch!” reply; somehow I managed to tone it down to “Please provide me with more detailed criteria”. Eight hours later I’m still struggling to explain to the parade of bosses why they got dragged into it.
I’ve met her data requirements, again, after setting aside all the rest of the crap I had to do today. If those files aren’t what she wanted, she can explain to everybody else that their problems will have to wait because she’s too daft to ask for what she wants.

The past week has been OK. On Tuesday, R*’s car got fixed while we ate at Mangia and went Pocky-shopping. Wednesday and Thursday were nondescript.
Friday I cut out of work early and went to Cape Girardeau with my parents and older brother to see my younger brother’s band play with Clark Terry.
Saturday I went out for Thai (alas, no link!) and then in to work for a bit. I was supposed to have a date, but he became ill not long after I got there, so instead of the planned activities I went home.
Sunday I hit the parents’ house for dinner, then picked up the date where we had left off the night before.
Monday, not much. Worked out, bitched at users who stayed logged in over the weekend, came home and played Diablo II with R*.
Tonight, baseball!
