again. Sorry ’bout the delay, but I’ve been working a lot.

  • I JUST CAUGHT A SPAMMER. I won’t go into too much detail, but he was forging the return address to my employer’s domain. (My employer has excellent lawyers, hint hint.)
  • Goats.com for November 7 has an intriguing theory about how the plot holes in the newest Matrix sequel get resolved. There’s also a funny review in Wired.
  • Groklaw has news of IBM’s latest move against SCO – seems IBM’s motion to compel discovery has gone unanswered from the Beast of Provo. It’s a rather tired technique – make all sorts of wild accusations and never provide evidence – but it is effective on rare occasions against smaller fish than IBM.
  • Jessica Lynch is disputing the new book about her rescue.
  • I made R*’s curry the other night. Mmm, curry. R*, can I post that recipe?
  • I also made coq au vin, mostly because of one of R*’s comment at my table one night that I never made him any “European” dishes. So I learned one. neener. The first implementation of coq au vin was originally for R* and I, though Ed, his GF, and my youngest brother Dan wound up eating as well. Side dishes included spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette, baked sweet potatoes, and a nice anarchist caraway rye; dessert was kataifi, followed by boba milk tea. The second implementation was just me and Ed.

Round 1, on the whole, came out MUCH better – I used a better wine, and my produce was überfresh (from Soulard Market) – though the chicken itself was better in Round 2.

Round 3 is this weekend, for my parents. I have a bottle of Round 1′s wine, some salt pork, and some herbs; my mother is providing the chicken, vegetables, and kitchen.

  • Attention computer users: Give details if you want help. I harp on this every friggin’ week around here and it has yet to sink in.
  • Also, quit asking me to repeat myself. I fucking HATE that.
  • Been tweaking articles on Wikipedia as I find errors. The whole exercise appeals to my inner pedant.
  • I’ve somehow volunteered to be the new Webmaster for the Growing American Youth Web site (which I’ve ‘owned’ for 2 years now). I don’t know exactly what drove me to it, but I want to get Drupal running on there if at all possible and pass content management off to the kids themselves.

OK – enough for now. Back to work.
