This should take the wind out of a few sails — or the warp engines out of a few starships, as it were — since he doesn’t fit the stereotypical white nelly muscleboy mold, and since he’s been in a committed monogamous relationship for 18+ years. (He is, however, articulate and well-groomed, and a damned good driver to boot.)
