The Diocese of California is looking for a new bishop.
The Diocese of California consists of San Francisco and its immediate surroundings.
San Francisco prides itself on being the center of gay culture.
So it makes perfect sense to me to pick a gay bishop for that diocese.
The twist on this one: the African dioceses complained loudest about Gene Robinson’s ordination as bishop, but the frontrunner mentioned in this article is from South Africa…
