Things are kah-razy
Sorry about that delay in posting; unlike some, I cannot blame my blogsilence on Blogger or blogspot.com. Here’s what’s been going on with me since April 17:
- Um, I got in a small car accident. My grille and hood got bent, and my front fender got scraped up, so the insurance company decided they wanted to get everything fixed. They’re paying for everything beyond my deductible, but it still sucks that I am without car while they’re working on it. (Officially, the wreck was nobody’s fault; that intersection apparently sees a lot of this sort of accident, as it is difficult to see the stoplight until the last second.)
- The new ballpark is rather nice; I love the broad concourses, the way the upper decks get close to the field, and the big open space in the outfield where one can actually see the Arch and the rest of downtown. It’s pretty expensive, though. I think I saw some guy taking out a second mortgage to buy a round of beers.
- Gearing up for a show at the Sheldon one week from tomorrow, May 17. I do not have any solos in this show, because two of our four baritones had to cancel (one moved to San Francisco, the other’s job is getting wacky) and the director explicitly forbade us two remaining baritones from auditioning. However, many of our arrangements are baritone-intensive, so my lucky few readers who attend will get to hear me.
- And speaking of singing, Fred and I joined the rest of the chorus in performing the US and Canadian national anthems at the gay rodeo this past weekend in Lake St. Louis. We stuck around for a bit afterwards and saw the bareback bronc riding, chute dogging, and goat dressing events before heading out.
- Yeah, the laptop got rebuilt. It purrs like a kitten now.
- Job search continues; am talking with a couple places now. More word as things become more certain.
- And speaking of jobs: if one wishes to harass a former co-worker via e-mail, then one should find a more anonymous method than a Yahoo! mailbox. especially if one connects to that Yahoo! box from the same static IP. (No specifics on this one, sorry.)
- Need to plug Tim Fish, who has a couple new releases coming out. (although his “Young Bottoms in Love” webcomic series is ending. *pout*)
- Answering these Wikipedia e-mails would be so much easier if people would just realize that yes, you can edit that and there is a public history for every article which not only displays who contributed but also what they contributed.
- And yes, the history is also visible for all those “political dirty tricks” edits the media is suddenly so fond of discussing. The history has always been publicly visible and will always be publicly visible. Get familiar with it already.
- Fantasy baseball league is in full swing. So far, I’m in third place, but lots can change before the end of the season.
- The Google “Da Vinci Code” puzzles are addicting, I tells ya. Too bad they’re almost over.
OK, that’s all I can think of for now. Any questions?

Alas, poor Nigel! I hope he’s good as new, soon.

I have a question. Why are chorus guys so good at softball!? We’ve had a hell of a time holding our own against the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus!!
