can’t sleep
too busy watching election returns.
Good news: Claire McCaskill has taken a lead in the returns now that urbanized counties are contributing their totals.
Bad news: still 600ish precincts to report, and the margin is slim enough that the end result could go either way.
Good news: the overwhelming majority of those precincts are in St. Louis and Jefferson Counties, which are breaking strongly for Claire, and in Clay County, which has not reported a damned thing but which is suburban and just north of KC. Still a few precincts left in Jackson County (home to KC), Boone County (home to Columbia and the flagship campus of the University of MO), and the independent city of St. Louis, too.
Other good news: Jim Webb has a sliiiiiiim lead over George Allen, with just 8 precincts left to report. Please pray that the racist bastard gets beaten.
Other other good news: things aren’t looking so hot for Conrad Burns, the fave-rave Senator for a certain disgraced Washington lobbyist.
In the morning perhaps: a recap of this past weekend, which was rather eventful. In the meantime, though, have to go hit “refresh” again.
